Ledson Zinful Brownies
paired with our Russian River Valley 'Old Vine' Zinfandel 'Bertetta'

2 eggs
¾ cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup butter, melted
½ cup Ledson Lodi Zinfandel
¾ cup good quality cocoa powder
(such as ScharffenBerger or Ghirardelli)
¾ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1/3 cup chocolate chips (bittersweet is best)
½ cup Ledson Zinfandel Chocolate Sauce

Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan and set it aside. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla and the Lodi Zinfandel. Add the melted butter and whisk to blend. Sift the dry ingredients together, then stir these into the egg mixture. Add the chocolate chips and spread the mixture into the prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Drizzle with Ledson Zinfandel Chocolate Sauce.
Makes approx. 16 brownies (or fewer if you’re generous).
