Dear Friends,
I am excited to announce that our
2003 Alexander Valley Merlot, boasting a 94 point score, has been presented the Editors Choice Award by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
In my continuing commitment to provide you with exceptional wine at the most opportune time, I intentionally held some of this Merlot back for
more than 6 years, allowing it to mature to perfection. I am glad we made the decision to keep this wine in our cellar so that we could share it with you now.
Although many Merlots are enjoyed at an early age, the 2003 Alexander Valley Merlot exhibits many of the characteristics of a Cabernet:
flavors of sweet black plum, cherry, sandalwood, firm but soft tannins; complex qualities that evolve in aged wines. Presently, this
wine is showing beautifully and holds the promise of cultivating with even more distinction over the next 3-5 years. Hence the proof,
that some things do indeed get better with time!
We are grateful for the recognition our 2003 Alexander Valley Merlot has received from the knowledgeable folks at the
Wine Enthusiast and anticipate an increased interest from their readers as well. With that said, I want to ensure that you don't
miss the chance to secure some of the limited quantity we have left in our cellar so that you can add this celebrated wine to your
personal collection. Like me, you will be savoring this vintage for years to come.
